Welcome to the first blog post of the year!

The start of the year has brought lots of new changes to the business and some exiting things, but lets look back at 2019 for a moment. In early November I had a stall at Handmade Chelsea, this allowed me to meet lots of people and sell my work. The weekend was a success and has allowed me to look towards the future and to continue to make my glass work. I was also part of an online exhibition by Contemporary Glass society looking at the colour of orange and 'Sunset Vessel' with it's reds and yellows was next to some beautiful autumnal coloured work of other renowned glass artists.

Looking into 2020 their are lots of things that have happened so far and events and exhibitions coming up. The next upcoming event will be at The New Ashgate Gallery in Farnham, Surrey. My work will be displayed as part of the rising stars exhibition; with work from other undergraduates, recent graduates or makers in a prominent point in their career. Looking further I have also been invited to exhibit my work at the Chalk's Gallery, an arts and crafts gallery that will be opening in Lymington on the 28th March , the debut exhibition 'Spring to Life' will be a new adventure for me and the gallery, opened by Harriet and Rosie Wesley; a mother and daughter duo.

One thing that has kept me on track for 2020 has been my Design Trust Diary planner, it has helped me to stay focused and reminded me to continue with creativity and to not give up. In turn my sketchbook has become filled with new ideas and the creation of a new collection is on the horizon. I'm continuing to experiment with cold- working the glass but am looking into changing the colours and patterns I create on my glass. When not making pieces I have also began to express myself through print, I have always loved lino cutting and I am now using it to create patterns, something that can be done from the comfort of my home. Looking further into 2020 I have began to pencil in craft fairs and events that I would like to have a stall at, spring looks to bring more making and selling with a new collection the goal for the summer.
