Beth Gates is a graduate of UCA Farnham and is based in Maidenhead. She utilises the ancient craft of glassblowing as a method of artistic expression; exploring shape, form and bright contrasting colours developed from a variety of influences. Beth’s work is about pushing the boundaries of glass as a material to best depict soft intersections between the sky and the land, the patchwork colours of fields, to the changing tones of fauna and flora.
"Working with different experimental methods of colour application, I want to push the boundaries of glass and develop a greater understanding of how the material can be used artistically. My Vessels in my current collection are inspired by the colours and environments around me. I aspire to keep working with glass and to further push my practice at every opportunity " |
